In 1990, Antonio's la fiamma opened in Maitland offering fresh, multi-regional Italian cuisine unavailable in the Orlando metropolitan area. The creation of Antonio's, then and now, was born from Greg's passion for food and a love for the country of Italy. While traveling in Tuscany, Greg Gentile, Antonio's Owner, was in awe of the natural wood, stone and tile used, and still evident, in centuries-old buildings. Antonio's Sand Lake offers that "old-world" Tuscan atmosphere featuring gothic and barrel-vault ceilings, wood floors, the beauty of inlaid wood furnishings and beautifully painted Italian scenes in oil. Whether a small private dining room comfortable for 10, an indoor terrace for an "al fresco" feel or the beautiful main dining room with a view of the open kitchen, the "Tuscan villa" ambiance is apparent throughout. Guests feel as if they stepped inside Italy's own borders- right here in Orlando! The cuisine is a delicious combination of Italy's varied regions. "...a banquet of one tempting morsel after another" of "authentic, Italian-inspired dishes prepared with fresh ingredients" Mr. Joseph of The Orlando Sentinel states, where "the service is first rate!" Prepared "al minuto" or "to the moment," Antonio's is known for outstanding recipes for fresh fish and seafood. Daily specials are always tempting - as are the Black Angus steaks, veal, lamb and pork dishes. Breads are baked fresh daily and the dessert array offers the perfect finishing touch.
