The brainchild of the Mendoza brothers, Monica‘s Restaurant first open it‘s doors in March of 1995, occupying a store front on 67 Prince street in Boston‘s North End. The four young brothers catered to their neighborhood with a commitment to quality and consistency. Offering a simple menu of hot and cold sandwiches, delicious home made pastas and grilled meats and seafood. With eldest brother George in charge of the kitchen and Patrick, Juan and and Frank in charge of the front of the house, the humble 18 seat eatery soon became a hit. Their interest in preserving the traditional culinary crafts of their mother’s ancestral Italian heritage is showcased in their hand crafted pastas, rustic breads and delightful desserts that are served at their three locations. To complement their hand crafted products the four brothers routinely frequent the local produce centers, farm stands, fish piers and local meat markets in search for the freshest ingredients. Ever since its opening, Monica’s restaurant has continued to redefine it self.
