President Harrison's Spiced Cider |
|
|
|
Numerous occupants of the Oval Office have been known for a signature cocktail or spirit. Ulysses S. Grant was a bourbon drinker whose Civil War leadership inspired Abraham Lincoln to inquire, "What brand of whiskey Grant preferred," as he "would like to send some to his other generals." John F. Kennedy relished serving daiquiris aboard the Presidential Yacht Sequoia and the common thread between Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon -- scotch.
So With the election over and inauguration of a new president in the White House I say it is time to have a little cheer. Its cold outside and somewhere somebody is sitting in a big cozy plump chair by a fire drinking this drink:
President Harrison's Spiced Cider
"Tippecanoe" surely could have used a dose of this elixir after his inaugural walk from the Capitol to the White House in the cold rain.
- 6 oz. Hot Apple Cider; spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg
- Serve in cups garnished with clove studded orange peel.
The wonderful thing about this drink you can easily sip its full of vitamin c and good for nursing what ails you!
Cheers,
