LUV POTION #9
Over the past 14 years, Caterina Miltenberger has forged a reputation as one of Dallas’ most well known mixologists, captivating audiences with her refined knowledge of spirits and trend setting cocktails. Cat’s zeal began at a very early age. An East Dallasite, she grew up in the Lakewood area.
Caterina’s passion for entertaining, and her innate ability in combining spirits, essences, foods, and flavors together comes from her first generation Sicilian-American heritage. She is affectionately known as “The Liquide Chef” to her close friends, co-workers, and clients. “When it comes to making a drink, I think ‘Chanel’ perfection….simple and elegant is my style.”
From pouring her first martini at a very young age, Cat has been perfecting her art as a “spirits alchemist” in several different venues. She has been expanding her complex knowledge of spirits and is always looking for palette trends in serving her clientele. In 2003, D Magazine voted her margarita the Best Grand Marnier margarita around. Cat holds the title as Tanqueray’s Most Wanted Bartender 2005 over all of Texas. A natural show woman, Cat is currently a freelance writer for Bars.com and has her own S I P Cocktail Catering Consulting service.
Caterina is always traveling internationally to perfect her art. Her idol and peer, Ben Reed, has been a great influence and inspiration to her. She met him five summers ago while he was on a book signing at Williams & Sonoma for his book “Art of the Cocktail”. Caterina is currently writing a book on cocktails in Texas.
